Film
“King of Djembe” tells the story of Famoudou Konate, a great master of African music and culture, who, after a long international career, returns to his homeland, in the Republic of Guinea. The film follows the surroundings of the party marking his 80th birthday and Famoudou's reunion with other great masters and friends. Famoudou is one of those responsible for spreading Djembe and Mandeng culture throughout the world, and was a central element in the history of the African Ballets, an important cultural, social and political event for the Pan African movement and the independence of the countries of the continent.
